A winter destination on the Costa del Sol that you cannot miss is Estepona, an old fishing village that has managed to retain its Andalusian charm despite tourism. Here you can enjoy long walks around the marina or visit the Orchidarium, a spectacular botanical garden full of orchids.

Another visit in this region is Nerja, famous for its impressive caves and its Balcón de Europa, a viewpoint with panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea. In Benalmádena, we recommend taking the cable car to get a unique view of the Costa del Sol and visit its picturesque old town. Another special winter destination is Marbella, known for its glamorous Puerto Banús and its exclusive shops and restaurants.

Tenerife

If you are looking for warm destinations in winter, Tenerife is your place. This beautiful Canary Island offers a mild climate all year round, making it a perfect option for those who want to escape the winter cold.

10 tips to pack the perfect summer suitcase

Get ready to enjoy an exciting trip to the beach! Packing the right suitcase can make the difference between a relaxing vacation and unnecessary stress. Here are ten practical tips so you can pack smart and make the most of your sunny days on the coast. Aim!

1. Make a list of essentials:
Before you start packing, make a list of all the items you need to bring. This will help you organize your thoughts and make sure you don't forget any important items.

2. Choose the right suitcase:
Opt for a suitcase that is resistant, light and easy to maneuver. If you plan to bring a lot of things, consider a suitcase with wheels to make transportation easier.

3. Clothes for the heat:
Select appropriate clothing for the weather. Wear t-shirts, fresh blouses, bathing suits, light dresses, Bermuda shorts and shorts in light colors. Don't forget a hat and sunglasses to protect you from the sun.

4. Pack extra swimsuits:
Carrying more than one swimsuit will allow you to always have a dry one to wear while the other dries in the sun.

5. Protect your skin:
Don't forget to include a broad-spectrum sunscreen with high SPF, as well as after-sun or moisturizing lotions to soothe skin after a day in the sun.

6. Items for the beach and pool:
Pack a towel, a waterproof bag for your belongings and toys if you are traveling with children. The umbrella will not fit in the suitcase, but it cannot be missing on your trip.

7. Proper footwear:
Wear comfortable, lightweight sandals that are easy to put on and take off. It is also useful to pack a pair of closed-toe shoes for walking on rougher surfaces or for nights out. And water shoes for the stone beaches!

8. Organize your belongings:
Use cloth bags or organizer bags to separate your items, such as clothing, personal care products, and electronics. This will keep your suitcase tidy and make it easy to access what you need.

9. Less is more:
Remember that, both at the beach and at the pool, you will most likely wear comfortable and simple clothing. Avoid overpacking and take only the essentials to avoid carrying unnecessary weight.

10. Prepare a tote bag:
For the plane or road trip, take a small carry-on bag with your important documents, cash, reusable water bottle, snacks and some entertainment, such as a book or magazine.

And ready! Follow these tips to the letter and we assure you that you will pack the best travel suitcase in the world. We are waiting for you at Ona Hotels & Apartments to enjoy an incredible vacation!

From the city of Palamós to this old and picturesque fishing village, Calella de Palafrugell , both in Girona, there are almost 12 kilometres.

Different colored boats shine on the beach under the shelter of white houses defined by their vaults, or arches that allow you to look at the Mediterranean in a different way, even Dalinian.

Its rural areas are fully preserved, ideal for strolling through its narrow streets and discovering its white tiled houses. You can also visit its charming beaches, some of the essential ones to see on the Costa Brava: El Golfet, Port Bo, En Calau, Port de Malaspina, El Canadell , among others. You can get to know the city of colored booths by doing a free walking tour. For the more adventurous, you can do the Camí de Ronda, which joins the beaches of Sant Pol and Sa Conca and its walk lasts only 2 kilometers.

In S'Agaró there is one of the things to see on the Costa Brava that we cannot miss: ** La Taverna del Mar ** with the table in the window that overlooks the dream sea .

If you are planning a romantic getaway or an original weekend as a couple, we recommend these places for you to meet during your stay and live a movie experience with that special person. Take note!

If you come for a romantic weekend…

• One of the best plans as a couple in Barcelona is to visit the Mural El Beso , located in the Gothic quarter, a few meters from the Barcelona Cathedral. Created by the artist Joan Fontcuberta, this mosaic collects 4,000 photos sent anonymously under the concept of 'freedom'. A romantic plan in Barcelona ideal to make some stories , in pairs, with this wonderful background. • In the center of Parc de la Ciutadella , you will find a lake that you can explore by boat. Paddling together you can discover the hidden corners of this oasis in the middle of the city, as well as learn more about its flora and fauna. Ideal to enjoy an original weekend as a couple.

• If you are looking for a romantic plan in Barcelona, you have to visit Montjuic Park, which in addition to being one of the green lungs of the city, has beautiful corners to explore. High above is the Mirador del Migdia , an area surrounded by pine trees, where you can have a picnic while you watch the sunset with beautiful views of the city. If you are more in the mood for a romantic dinner, next door is La Caseta del Migdia, ideal for eating something delicious with incredible scenery.

• And taking advantage of the visit to Montjuic, you can experience one of the most famous light and music shows in the area, that of its Magic Fountain , a show of dancing waters to the sound of songs that hypnotize everyone who attends. During this summer you can enjoy it every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 9:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. A must to see on your romantic weekend in Barcelona.

If the trip is longer and you have more days to enjoy together, we detail how to complete it:

• Another great place to enjoy activities as a couple in Barcelona, where you can admire the views and walk its paths hand in hand, is Park Güell . Designed by renowned modernist architect Antoni Gaudí, this terrace is architecturally insane and has views like no other. You can see another of his works, La Sagrada Familia with the sea in the background. If you take photos there, you will be the envy of everyone.

• There is nothing more fun than visiting an amusement park with your partner! In Tibidabo Park you can walk through its green area and ride its roller coaster or get on the plane together to have a laugh. Or imagine the cute moment of getting on the Ferris wheel and admiring the landscape with your arms around each other. An adventure and an original activity together!

• If you want to get lost in the gardens and make original plans for your romantic weekend, you can visit the Parque del Laberint d'Horta . Entirely made of cypresses, this labyrinth presents us with an almost impossible challenge that you can solve together. Get creative and play! Sounds fun, right?

• When it comes to romantic places in Barcelona, Parque de Cervantes is a great option for picnics and walks. In it, there are more than 200 varieties of rose bushes and sculptures by renowned artists! This landscape looks like a fairy tale that you can explore as a couple and take dream photos.

• If you are looking for a different corner, you must visit a place full of fantasy, the El Bosc de les Fades café. Less than 10 minutes from Casa Lit Bcn by Ona Hotels , you will find this bar set in a magical forest with its waterfalls, trees and elves. Enjoy this hidden place for a romantic date and, above all, very magical.

• If you feel like dancing, Joaquín Costa street has many options of bars and pubs to have some cocktails and move your hips with your churri .

• There is nothing more romantic than a dinner on the beach. For this reason, we recommend you visit Ca La Nuri , a restaurant located on the Barceloneta beach. Paellas are their star dish, ideal to enjoy with two watching the sun go down into the sea.

• Do you fancy a cocktail with sunset and views included? You don't have to go very far. In the same Casa Lit Bcn by Ona Hotels , you can find our rooftop to have a snack. Delight yourself with our tapas and drinks from the comfort of your hotel. Chin Chin!

Hotel or Apartment: what type of accommodation to choose?

Just as William Shakespeare asked himself: to be or not to be?, when planning our vacations we ask ourselves: Hotel or Apartment? That is the question.

Hotel-type accommodation in Barcelona, duplex room at Casa Lit By Ona

The world of hospitality is full of endless options! That is why today we will tell you the advantages and disadvantages of these types of accommodation , so that you can have a clearer idea when you start planning your trip. Shall we start?

Accommodation space:

In a hotel, you will only find your room and bathroom. Some rooms have a desk, a sofa and a television away from the bed, but always in the same space.

In the apartments you have different environments: dining room, living room, fully equipped kitchen, bathrooms and bedroom. More space = More comfort.

Length of stay:

The hotel is a great option for a weekend getaway or a short trip. Above all, for those who plan to use the room only to sleep and wash, but are out all day visiting.

An apartment , on the other hand, is the ideal choice for long stays, for families and couples who, as we mentioned before, choose to cook and live in an apartment, to feel at home. Quiet dinner, favorite movie or series and rest for tomorrow to continue visiting? plan!

Apartment with balcony near the sea, Ona Palamós (Costa Brava, Girona)

Freedom:

In the hotels we are governed depending on the hours of reception, breakfast, dinner and cleaning of the room.

When choosing an apartment, you can totally go your own way. A brunch at 12? Great option. And on top of that, if you choose an aparthotel, you have the best of each: the possibility of being in an apartment, but having breakfast at the hotel buffet. Or make breakfast in the apartment, but stop by the restaurant and take a take away to eat there. The perfect flexible combo for the holidays!

Kitchen or hospitality:

A hotel room denies us the possibility of cooking, forcing us to eat out every day or opt for a half-board plan to eat inside the hotel.

The apartment allows us to make all our meals inside it, thanks to the fact that the kitchens are fully equipped. This type of accommodation is ideal for those who prefer to save a little in restaurants, take food for excursions or enjoy the views of the apartment on the seafront while dining . And as we said before, if you are in an aparthotel and one day you don't feel like cooking, you can enjoy dinner right there. Goal!

Kitchen of 2-bedroom apartment, Ona Garden Lago in Mallorca

These two types of hotels have their advantages and disadvantages, and the choice is purely personal, depending on what you are looking for on vacation. Here you can find different options offered by Ona Hotels whether you are looking for a hotel or an apartment.

Statistically, apartments are the options most chosen by Spanish families as well as internationally, who travel for a long time during their summer vacations, especially in coastal areas. Although at Ona Hotels they also ensure that families enjoy the hotel accommodation experience to the fullest.

And you? Are you already clear about what types of accommodation to choose during your vacation preparations? Hotel or apartment?

In winter, you can enjoy its 555-meter descent slide and see the incredible Andorran landscapes while you descend. The park is only 8 minutes from Ona Dorada El Tarter! Important note: in summer, the park is also open and you have many more activities to do.

5- Build your own igloo
If you come to Andorra in winter, you will be able to create your own house, like the Eskimos! The monitors will equip you with all the necessary materials and will teach you the age-old technique to build your ice house. Keep in mind that this activity lasts an hour and a half, and that children under 6 years of age cannot participate. Make your reservation in time at Grandvalira!

6- Shopping in Andorra
On your getaway to Andorra, reserve time to stroll through its shops and shopping centers. You will find perfumery, technology, fashion, sports equipment and cosmetics products at cheaper prices. The Vivand area, Boulevard Fener, Avenida Meritxell and the Shopping Mile are some of the most popular places. Come back with a full suitcase!

Ona Dorada El Tarter

These are some of the activities that you can do in Andorra in winter, a destination with millions of proposals to do with your family, friends or partner. Be sure to visit it also in spring or summer, where you can discover its beautiful green landscapes and escape from the heat of the city. We are waiting for you at Ona Hotels!
